BAKED BRIE AND JAM BREAD BOWL
INGREDIENTS
This baked brie and jam bread bowl is a crowd-pleasing appetizer that will wow your guests! Brie and Dora jam are a match made in heaven!
-
1 rustic round loaf of bread
-
1 wheel of Brie (about 12 oz), top rind removed (triple-cream Brie is recommended)
-
2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
Salt
-
Freshly ground black pepper
PREPARATION
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Cut off the top quarter of the loaf. Use the Brie wheel to measure a circle in the center of the bread. Using a knife, trace around it and carefully remove the center of the loaf.
-
Make cuts around the edge of the bread about 1.5 inches apart, cutting approximately three-quarters of the way down without going all the way through the bottom. This will create pull-apart pieces that guests can easily tear off and dip once the bread is baked.
-
Brush the inside of the bread with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with half of the thyme.
-
Place the Brie wheel into the hollowed-out center. Sprinkle the remaining thyme over the top.
-
Spoon the Dora Raspberry Jam over the Brie.
-
Replace the top of the loaf and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Be sure to line the baking sheet with aluminum foil, as some of the melted Brie may ooze out during baking. If desired, toast the extra bread removed from the center and serve it alongside.
-
Serve immediately.
